Intense convective events over Spain on August 2009

        A set of convective storms took place over the centre and the east of the Spanish peninsula from 8th August to 11th August 2009. The heavy rain caused flash floods and power cuts in several villages of Salamanca. Intense hail storms occurred over different areas of Teruel causing material damages.

        Six images depicting the event at four different moments are presented below. Each set of images corresponds to a different day.
